Xp will not boot on dual boot with Win7

No prompt at all, just missing ntldr the CD is not booting I'll try Youtube.

Then there's a prob with the disk. What CD are you booting? XP to do the Repair Install? Or WIn7 Repair?

What about the other steps I gave you to delete XP in EasyBCD Edit menu and add it back again? This often works to get it booting.

I gave you a series of steps which you pretend to not even see. Please go back and work through each of them in order. This is how we work here. You must be thorough and not miss any steps in these matters.

The CD is the repair CD for XP, and I didn't skip any of your steps if you look back I did delete XP from BCD and then did a automatic reload. Look back 11 hours ago where I deleted and refreshed XP.

Did you even use EasyBCD? The step given is to delete the XP listing on EasyBCD Edit menu, and then add it back on Add OS Entry menu. I don't know what "automatic reload" is but it wasn't a step given.

It seems you changed every step I gave you, ignoring the bootsect command to make the XP drive bootable after marking it Active. Did you unplug the other drives? That needs to be done in any effort to make XP bootable on its own, or run its Repair Install.

The last resort is to run the XP Repair Install which requires being able to boot the XP CD for the exact same version you have installed, not an XP Repair disk - I don't even know what that is.

If you want to start at the top of the steps I gave you again I will help walk you through each of them. We don't give up, but do need to stick with what has worked in the past and not have it modified on the fly. These are the steps that have worked in the past in countless similar cases here.

I tried both methods now yours and automatic and neither worked on BCD 2.2. I also ran the repair and install from the CD as the primary boot and that doesn't work.

Please report back the exact failure point and error text on each of the steps I gave you?

You still have not replied with results of the step to run bootsect command from EasyBCD command line on XP partition which has been marked Active, then set its HD first to boot, reboot to see if it will boot or attempt to boot.

What happens when you try the XP Repair Install?

From the repair disk. I'm getting to the Windows select screen now and I've tried start windows normally and last known configuration, as I select these I get a blue screen which says to go into the bios and deselect shadowing a stop number of 0x0000007E appears. The old black screen message of NTLDR missing is gone.

This is working around the repair disk.

You'll need to run the commands I gave you in my steps earlier from EasyBCD in Win7, or the Win7 DVD or Repair CD Command Line:

Only a System partition should be marked Active signifying which partition is booting the OS's, so mark I and F Inactive now as it may be part of the problem> Partition - Mark as Inactive - Windows 7 Forums

Then if the problem persists after reboots, delete the XP listing in EasyBCD Edit menu and add it again. Save and reboot. Does it work now?

If that fails you can try to make XP bootable via the BIOS by returning its System flag to it and reactivating its boot files. To do this in Easybcd , click "Useful Utilities" then Power Console ( the black box like command window), type:

bootsect /nt52 i:

then press enter.

Mark XP partition Active. Restart and choose XP HD to boot from one-time BIOS Boot menu key.

If none of these work, unplug all other HD's to try running the command again from DVD or Repair CD System Recovery Options Command Prompt.

If that fails with all other HD's unplugged run an XP Repair Install, boot XP via BIOS.
