hal.dll missing or corrupt.

    hal.dll missing or corrupt.


    Ok all google gives is fixes for xp. I was first having issues with my wireless, 1 reboot later its fixed so i updated drivers. another reboot hal.dll is missing Sounds like a virus ;-;

    How can i fix this with the windows 7 cmd tool of the cd? please help me quickly i dont know how long ill have on this pc.

    The fact that that file is missing may actually be a result of a bad boot loader. It is possibly a virus, but run Startup Repair from the Windows 7 CD and let me know what happens.

    You can run a system file check to check/repair system files. to run it go to start>search>type cmd>right click run as admin>sfc /scannow

    EDIT: Hard to do if you cant boot. My duh just disregard

    /rummages around in drawer... Where did I put that install disc??
