Down to two now, I guess. I regret taking so much of your time.

I get better than 3G at the cafe & library. I wish that either or both offered reserved seating.

This is where I get confused ;(

I can't find where these keys should exist, or how - your existing entries look identical to the ones on my test rig.

I'm going to shout for help.

    Hi guys,

The two missing keys are located here:

    HKLM\Components\CanonicalData\Deployments\07e07bbd6d0..323a83baf0d_31bf3856ad364e35_8.0.7600.20861_3 0d8585b5e610801
    HKLM\Components\CanonicalData\Deployments\d648a20335a..279ce750b68_31bf3856ad364e35_8.0.7600.16722_1 3d7036350635523

The good news is that they're both from the same update (KB2482017)! But the bad news is this is for IE8, so I'm going to have to roll back my VM all the way down to IE8, download and install the updates then export the registry. Bear with me!

    Tom
This is actually part of RTM as far as I can see.
The keys are both missing in my default install VM

Ah, nice work! :) They're RTM!?

Load the hive, drop that in and you should be good to go! Unless it kicks up a few more problems in the process.

Nah - I had two VMs open, an RTM with Dave's COMPONENTS hive loaded and an SP1 with it loaded - I forgot that I had IE9 in the SP1 install, and hadn't installed the KB in the RTM...
Too clever for my own good :)

    Dave.

Please copy the entire contents of the Code box above to Notepad, and save as keys.reg

then, please load the hive using
    REG LOAD HKLM\COMPONENTS C:\Windows\system32\config\COMPONENTS

then double-click on the saved keys.reg file - accept the warnings, and you should get a success message.

reboot, and run a new CheckSUR report.
