Win 7 fully functional if I install before Oct. 22nd?

I'm having trouble finding this information, thanks for the help if you know the answer. I purchased the upgrade DVD at my university for W7 Enterprise Edition. I'm currently running XP and am backed up and ready to go.

I can't activate until next Thursday - what does this mean? Can I install and use W7 fully until then or do I need to wait until 10/22 to install? I'd hate to install and then not have full access to things...such as the internet. :)

    Probably a dumb question. Thanks!

You should be able to activate it now... no need to wait...

Okay, I'll give it a shot. For some reason the employee said I won't be able to successfully activate until 10/22. Maybe it has something to do with the university-licensed copy? If this is the case, will that change functionality?

    Thanks -

It will run without activation in case you cant activate untill then. You sure its the enterprize RETAIL?, not trial right? If its trial it time out in 90 days no matter what.

Thanks to both of you - it looks like I can go ahead and install and then just activate next week. It's not retail, it's a university license. W7 Enterprise Edition for 34 bucks, I couldn't pass that up (since I'm graduating soon and won't have access to that kind of pricing for long). I also found this post:
    Install now, activate later

    Thanks so much -

If you have the actual disc, it should work.

I didn't think that Enterprise was for sale to anybody through any channel unless it was a volume license business customer.

You should be able to install and activate, I believe the validation can't be done until 22 Oct.
