Who suggested you format the C drive?
That would only be done if you decide to Bypass UEFI to Install WIn7 to an MBR HD, which as I've already said would also require reinstalling Win8 since you must wipe the HD to do this.
You'd want to make your Recovery disks first, and/or save a Win8 backup image in case you want to restore to factory condition.
