    Who suggested you format the C drive?

    That would only be done if you decide to Bypass UEFI to Install WIn7 to an MBR HD, which as I've already said would also require reinstalling Win8 since you must wipe the HD to do this.

    You'd want to make your Recovery disks first, and/or save a Win8 backup image in case you want to restore to factory condition.

    I am trying the other flash drive now to see if I get any thing different. Also if the hard drive is GPT then I shouldn't need to do anything to it?

    Your Windows 8 HDD is in GPT mode already.

    The iso file is 3.9GB and the usb with the iso file is 4.46GB.

    Format the new partition that you have created with GPT and Install Win7 on the new partition.

    Then I set the boot device priority and then save changes and reset
