Installing upgrade Windows 7 onto new PC
A quick and hopefully simple question please:
New PC is being built with my existing Windows 7 OS being used. The plan is to put this onto a new SSD drive where it will sit in solitary splendour.
I am told that I will actually need to buy a new FULL copy of Windows 7 as my upgrade disk won't work. I explained that I have still have the Vista Home premium 32 bit (full) that came with my old PC but was told that, even using that first and then my upgrade, wont get me to 64bit; it would just give me Windows 7 32bit. I'm a little confused as, when I bought the upgrade disk, I reformatted my HDD and it upgraded to Windows 7 64bit with no problems.
Can somebody please confirm who is correct? Many thanks :)
