how do i download internet explorer 8 on windows 7

my computer updated and now it seems that i'm stuck with internet explorer 10. ie8 worked fine for me and now I have to deal with ie10 which lags and looks horrible. i searched everywhere and i cant seem to find internet explorer 8 for windows 7 even on the Microsoft website. is there any way i can fix this and get back to ie8?

Internet Explorer ships with Windows 7 by default, so there's no installer for it. You must simply uninstall Internet Explorer 10 to get back the previous version of Internet Explorer that was installed.

I tried that by going through the control panel and unchecking the internet explorer 10 box. after I reboot my computer I click on an internet site icon and it says that it cant run it.

To downgrade to IE8 from IE10

Click on >Control Panel>Programs>Programs and Features or type Programs and Features inside the Search programs and files box . Press Enter once Programs and Features is under Programs (1) .

Click on View installed updates on the left pane.

Once installed updates are displayed on right-pane, select Windows Internet Explorer 10 and click Uninstall button

Click Yes to proceed with the uninstall and further click on restart now button to uninstall IE10

Do the same for IE9 until you get IE8

Correct - you didn't uninstall IE10, you uninstalled Internet Explorer entirely. Use the "View Installed updates" option as mentioned by VistaKing, not remove features.
