How do I install Windows 7 from my Windows Vista laptop?

    Hello,

I made a giant mistake. My older laptop had Windows 7 on it and I had this device that only worked on Windows Vista. So, I decided to downgrade to Windows Vista from Windows 7. Turns out, all my drivers weren't compatible with Vista and everything is extremely...laggy. My network card didn't work and everything seems to be REALLY wonky.

Now I'm in a bubble. How do I go BACK to Windows 7? I do not have a Windows 7 installation disc and I do not have a Vista disc (other then my installation disc). And it's my old laptop, so if reformatting everything and losing every piece of data is an option, I'm willing to do it. Any ideas?

    Thanks.

I appreciate the help but as I was reading through the steps, they seem rather confusing to me.

    Which steps ?

Step 1 : Has a Legit iso for Windows 7 installation

Step 2 : Has a tool to create a bootable USB or DVD from the downloaded .iso file

Please ask any questions to clear up your confusion.

The first half of the steps deal with backing up everything that must be remembered beforehand. This helps users who want to think of everything ahead of time and not lose anything because their homework didn't get done.

You really only need the installer from Steps 1 and 2 and then skip to steps for the actual install. There are also tips for tools and methods to use which will assure you get and keep a perfect install if that kind of thing interests you.
