Well it is only for pre installing an OS and you didn't say why or what you wanted to partition for for.

Never mind I guess someone will find you what you want:).

    Ok a bit more information.
I Shrank the C: Drive, I then had unallocated space, using the unallocated space I tried to create a New Simple Volume The next 4 stages of the create were ok then on the 5th I got the message:

This shows that it has changed form a simple volume to a dynamic. Then the last step just gives me the info that there is not enough space to complete the task.

Any advice or help here would be greatly appreciated.

You are trying to make to many partitions.

Can you post a screen shot of Disk management?

There should be no problem to create a logical partition in the 206GB of unallocated space. You have only 2 primary partitions and dynamics should not be created.

If you converted your Recovery to Logical it shouldn't be expected to boot and is now useless. Try to generate your Recovery Disks to see if it will even do that. If not you might be able to make it run if you convert it back to Primary using Video help on how to set partition as Primary or Logical.

Why is there a 1gb partition to its right? Is that the Diagnostics tools partition, as if so it won't boot either. I'd convert it too and then try booting it. If it's not that, then I'd delete it.

If these efforts to save those as bootable partitions work and you choose to keep them both as Primary, then you'll have the maximum of four and need to convert C to Logical to make another logical partition in the space to its right.

If you've ruined those partitions and they will no longer boot then you can delete them to create any type of partition in the space and rely on Recovery Disks you hopefully made, or if reinstall is required do the superior Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

Feel free to ask back any questions before deciding what to do.
