You have to boot from the XP disc.

Put the disc in the tray and restart the machine.

When you get the prompt to " Press any key to boot from cd/dvd " push any key on the keyboard.

Don't run it from within Windows 7 ( not from the desktop )

I'd want the licensed XP Media Center OEM CD with SP3. Be careful if you download it that you don't get one that's cracked or tampered with - read the comments.

During install delete all partitions and full format your new XP partition that you create.

First check for all the Win XP drivers for your hardware on the manufacturer's web site.

If your Win XP CD, does not support your Sata Controller, you will need to load drivers to uses at F6.
Load Sata Controller drivers with a floppy disk is the best way.
SATA Drivers - Load in Windows XP Setup on Dual Boot
    OR
SATA Drivers - Slipstream into Windows XP CD
