I want to make sure I reinstalled my operating system correctly

So, after about 5 months, I felt like I downloaded too much junk so I decided to wipe everything. I've done this before, but I kind of don't know if I've been doing it correctly. I just need someone to confirm that I did everything right. So, anyhow, I'll list the steps I took:

1. Put in the recovery disc
2. Followed all the steps
3. Got onto my desktop, ejected the disc, popped in the resource DVD that came packed with my laptop
4. Downloaded all the drivers and restarted
5. Used windows update to update everything, updated my nvidia 555m driver using the system tools
6. Lastly I installed other goods such as flash, reader, microsoft security essentials, etc.

Did I screw up completely?

If it's running good though and you're happy, that's all that matters.

Well, it's running decently well but I haven't really noticed any difference in the performance of games.

It could be bloatware on your factory discs too, giving you a less than perfect reinstall.

You may have done the damage overclocking like you mentioned in the other thread.

Good question, I'd work through these steps,

Clean Up Factory Bloatware

See if it helps, we both know you're worried about what might have happened to your laptop by overclocking it.

Try the bloatware cleanup, try a cleaner install, it's going to come back to your hardware.
