Windows 7 Install hangs after "Starting Windows" when booting from USB

    Why not? You have the disk. It will then confirm you have a bad HD.

    I can't run it, the option is greyed out. Should I reload Partition Wizard?

    Boot the disk, click on the HD as shown in video to highlight it, then run the Surface Scan.

    It sat there for 20 seconds, and then failed so hard the whole laptop rebooted... as a final thing before I mark this as solved, I'm looking at this hard drive to replace my current one (which I found on newegg with a 1 egg rating . . . ):Western Digital Scorpio Black WD7500BPKT 750GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 2.5" Internal Notebook Hard Drive - Newegg.com

    This would work right? It's the same size, form factor, RPM, and disk interface, plus it has great reviews.
