Windows 7 Installation. Did I do right?
Hi folks,
Noob alert! Here's the deal. With my old PC, if I decided to perform a clean install of Windows 7, I'd simply reformat the partitions and re-install from the Windows 7 disk. However, I recently purchased a new PC that uses UEFI. Anyway, I decided to perform a clean install of Windows 7. I formatted the primary drive and to my horror, when I chose that drive for the location of Windows, I received this message: "Windows cannot be installed on this disk. Selected disk has MBR partition. On EFI systems Windows can only be installed to GPT disks." Well, I've done what was suggested in this tutorial: UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) - Install Windows 7 with by deleting all partitions, creating a new one, that created 3 new partitions, and I installed to the primary. Windows 7 has now installed okay, but have I done right by doing this, as obviously my partitions are different from when it was when I received the PC from the manufacturer.
Any answers from the geniuses-that-are will be greatly appreciated!:)
