    DVD cannot read Windows prof 7 64 DVD from win xp Prof 32


    Hi I am trying to do a new install of windows 7 Prof 64 bit. The computer that I am trying to install it on will not allow me to even see the files on the disk yet my windows 7 machine can see it fine? help? Current iteration... I installed a new 750 G HD with the intention of installing a new win 7 64 bit operating system on it. Disk would not boot. So I installed wind XP prof 32 bit that I had previously used on the old HD. When I went to win explorer I cannot see any of the files on the disk. Yet I can see them from a machine that currently hs win 7 on it (Laptop)
    My machine
    Custom Built.
    winfast 6100ma2a
    4gb ram
    AMD X2 64 bit dual core

    What do I need to do. Do I need to install some kind of driver that allows it to see it? I am kind lost here at this point. Will an external DVD do the trick?

    Where did you get Win7? How is the disk burned? If you burned it yourself, confirm the ISO and burn another using ImgBurn at 4x speed.

    Then you need to boot the disk to do a Clean Install Windows 7

    Can you see files on another DVD? And on another CD?

    Did you reinstall winxp or just put the old harddisk in?
