Trying to install XP on a separate drive for dual boot

I have Windows 7 RC1, and am trying to install XP on a separate drive but am getting the following error:

"Setup could not load the keyboard layout file KBDUS.DLL.
Setup cannot continue. Power down or reboot your computer now."

I restart and am able to go back to Windows 7...Any ideas on how to get around this??

Interesting...I removed the power off one of my hard drives. I had 20 partitions and I think that's what was messing with the install. I got XP installed and it works. I then installed Easy BCD but it gave an error of not being able to detect a vista install. If I don't hit F8 when I boot the system, it goes straight into Windows 7, which is fine. Do I need to create a boot menu using EasyBCD or do I just go into the F8 menu?

EasyBCD should be able to do this for you.

    Open EasyBCD,
    click Add/Remove entries,

    under Add an Entry,
    in Type select Vista,
    give it a name,
    select the corresponding drive letter,
    click Add Entry.

This will give you the Dual Boot menu when you start up.

    Let us know the results.

When I'm in XP, XP thinks it C: but it's really not. Does EasyBCD screw up drive letters when I go back into Windows 7?

The good thing is that I only had to dualboot to XP beause Pro Tools M-Powered 7.4 does not work with Windows 7, as soon as they release a version for 7, bye bye XP for good.

When you boot into Win7 the partition it's in will be C:

When you boot into XP the partition it's in will call itself C: also.

The un-used OS partition will use another drive letter. This is normal.
