Windows 7 Install Question

First off thanks for looking.
I did a clean install of windows 7(I think)last night. It is up and running great by the way. The only other OS install I have ever done was with XP. With XP it was real clear when the install was going to format and set up partitions. With format and partition set up boxes. When I installed windows 7 last night I did not notice the option for formatting or setting up partitions. All I noticed was a repair or new install option. Ok now to my question. Does windows 7 do all this automatically or did I over look the option for format and partition set up.

Windows 7 allows you to manually format partitions during setup, but it depends on which options you choose and whether or not you boot from the DVD, etc.

I booted from the CD. Where are the options. By the way I have Windows 7 Ultimate OEM.

What CD? Windows 7 comes on a DVD.

The options are there, when you go through setup to do a clean install you will have an option to choose which partition to put Windows on. You can use that same screen to format and create partitions, etc.

and use this for things Disk Manager can't handle
