Need help creating a Win7 and XP dual boot system
Hi to all,
I'm new to this forum, the reason I'm here is that I (apparently like a whole lot of others) am finding it impossible to create a working dual boot system. For those who wonder why I need a dual boot system, long story short, I have a number of programs and related hardware that won't load let alone run on Windows 7. Per the vendors no updates patches or any kind of support is available. Yes, I've tried running a virtual machine, a couple of programs require hardware acceleration and that's the end on that. When I joined your site, I provided all the relevant information about my system, hopefully that is available to you, if not I will gladly provide it to you. Now, down to what I've done.
My new machine has no available floppy disk drive, therefore using nLite I created a set up disk using Windows XP Pro (2003) with SP3, I followed the tutorials provided by the folks on your site. They were very clear and concise, I had no problems whatsoever. Prior to integrating the drivers, I contacted ASUS and asked them how to locate and integrate the correct driver(s) for my system. I was advised to use the drivers that came with the support disk for the motherboard. (ASUS Sabertooth Z87 with an INTEL 7440K processor) The drivers I integrated were iaAHCIC.inf Copyright (c) 2009-2013 Intel Corporation

; ** Abstract: Windows* INF File for AHCI Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology Driver
; ** Installs: RST AHCI Controller Miniport

The second inf file was ; Copyright (c) 2009-2013 Intel Corporation

The file appeared in the integration file as Intel PNP SCSI Adapter.
My next step was to run the install disk, It resulted in a BSOD. The screen stated that Windows has shut down this action to prevent damage to the computer.
Based on the information I've read on your site, it looks like maybe ASUS gave me wrong information or I don't have the correct SATA driver. I'm at my wits end, between Microsoft and ASUS, I've been kicked around like a soccer ball. Any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
Thank You All
