Boot error, 0xc0000225
Hi there,
So recently I've been wanting to reboot my entire laptop and do a clean install of Windows 7 on it (it has been running Vista for quite a few years now).
I've burnt the Windows 7 ultimate 32bit iso onto my USB flash drive, and inserted it, then restarted my computer to get it to boot.
I tried 2 methods
1. "Manual" booting selection (hit f10 on the HP screen and select USB)
2. USB flash drive as the primary boot source.
Both of these unfortunately gave me the following message of - "Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause".
File: /Boot/BCD
Status: 0xc0000225
Info: An error occurred while attempting to read the boot configuration data.
Eventually I decided to just open the USB through "My Computer" and ran the setup, which all went fine and dandy and installed (except of course it wasn't a clean boot where I completely removed the contents on any partitions and then installed Win7).
So my question is, is there a way to do a proper 100% clean reboot of windows 7 without the error message popping up to block me, or at the least fix the error message?
I don't own the original OS disk for this laptop so I couldn't find any other solutions.
Thanks
