I'm having this problem as well. I'm working on burning the ISO right now, but I the "unblock" button does not appear in the properties window for any of the three downloaded files. Should I just proceed with the other steps without unblocking? Thanks.

Hi Mightypants (I like your name..)
That is a file property, maybe they are already unblocked? Were you able to do it once?
I myself haven't seen the application, but I suspect that if you just proceed and it works, you are fine. If there is a problem it will probalby stop you before you can complete it. Then please come back, there are other members that have more experience how to deal with it.
But wait, you say you are burning the iso already, so you have gotten to the end of the process, right? I suspect they were already unblocked.

The ISO burning directions I'm looking at say to unblock these files first. That is where I'm stuck. Thanks.

Can you post a picture of what you get when you do:
1. Rt click each file, Properties > Unblock > Apply > OK

Sorry, I'm primarily a mac guy and don't know how to do a screen shot. The problem is that the "Unblock" button simply doesn't appear.

Update: I followed the directions up to the command line portion, and am now getting an error on that command. Below is what I entered and the error message I received:
Quote:
C:\Windows\system32>Oscdimg.exe -u2 -b"C:\Users\The J-Slice\Desktop\expandedSetu
p\boot\etfsboot.com" -h "C:\Users\your_username\Desktop\expandedSetup" C:\7.iso

Is this because there is a dash in my username? If so, what is the appropriate syntax? Thanks.

I copied and pasted from my Mac browser too. see the in the error line? It's put in a different character instead of a hyphen. I had this problem, but fixed it by deleting and retyping all spaces and hyphens in the command. Then worked perfectly.
If you're installing under VMWare Fusion, see my guide:

Mightypants. I had the same problem. Here is how to fix that.

All you need to do is instead of copying and pasting the osc code. You have to MANUALLY enter the code. The dashes in your name don't matter, that's fine. Manually enter the osc address line and it will work.

Thanks for the suggestions. I was able to create the ISO by typing in the whole command. Next question, once the ISO is finished burning, can I run the installation from Vista or do I need to boot from the disc? Mac users, does restarting and holding option key work for this (i.e. will the disc be recognized as bootable)? Thanks.

I guess you're trying to install this in your boot camp partition on a Mac. I have no idea if the iso will be bootable, I'm afraid, as my sole interest was getting it running in vmWare. I would guess that it is bootable, but please report back if it is or isn't.
If you couldn't run the updater in Vista (your Vista is 32 bit, your Win 7 is 64 bit, perhaps) then you'll NEED to boot from it. At that point you've got two options.
1. If you can boot from the disk, you should be able to erase and clean install over your Vista. Make sure you've backed up. Your upgrade product key should work as expected.
2. If you can't boot from the disk, you may be able to boot from it by using the boot camp utility. This may mean deleting your boot camp partition (backup first) and installing as if to a fresh drive. In which case, your product key won't work, as no previous version of Windows will be found by the installer. In which case, use this workaround:

Good luck, and report back!

Okay, I was able to boot from the disk, but now I seem to have encountered another problem. After selcting my language and continuing, I received a message saying I was missing a device driver. I clicked okay and now it says "select the driver to be installed and a loading bar keeps cycling through and I'm getting the spinning cursor. Any thoughts?
