James,
The reason it worked for you is the fact that you have a full install key.
Lucky you.......

see below

The OFFICIAL answer:

Dear Customer,

Thank you for choosing Windows 7 Online store.

We understand that you are interested to purchase Windows 7 Upgrade through our online store.

We apologize for the confusion.

The Windows 7 offered in this promotion is a full version. You can

install this product even though you do not have a previous Operating System installed in your computer

or if you want to make a multi boot using Windows 7. The "Upgrade" included in the product name is just

because Windows 7 is the latest Operating System Windows developed.

Sincerely,

Joanna A.

Good to hear, I'll be making a guide when I get home, although there are a lot already.
I'll put a link on it on this thread when I'm done.

Hi,
I too am in the same situation as you. Thanks to everyone!

By the way, the tool oscdimg.exe I have and have also found on other sites is only 74KB not 123KB, like the one available here, just curious.
I took mine inside windows AIK (IT tool) which is a free download from MS and you can find the tool once you installed it (.img file from MS is around 900MB).

I can now say I am a happy camper since I was finally able to make the ISO file. I was first having trouble with all sorts of errors.

For those who are still struggling...all I can say to help you guys out is:
TYPE OUT THE CODE INSTEAD OF COPY AND PASTE!

Can't boot

I've created a .iso with the command prompts and burned it to a disk. When running XP or 7 in 32 bit mode, it recognizes the disk and tells me to boot from the disk since its 64 bit, but when I try to do that it never boots from the disk. I've set the boot priority in BIOS and tried the boot menu, still no go. Any ideas, its driving me nuts?
