    Cannot Repair my Computer

    Hello there,

I was willing to a triple boot configuration and installed Mac OS X Mountain Lion(turned my disk to GPT) then installed Windows 7 Ultimate x64 Service Pack 1 then I installed Fedora 20 Alpha and deleted Mac OS X(there wasn't enough space).
Now getting /Boot/BCD on Windows. So I decided to Repair my Computer using the installation disc. It says that I use a different version of Windows.I have important files and apps that I do not want to lose.Is there any way to recover my Windows's BCD.

Were you using a program like Boot Camp to enable installing MAC OS with Win7 in a Dual Boot?

You don't say if you installed WIN7 to the same HDD, but if so and it's GPT format then it must have been installed in UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) - Install Windows 7 with - Windows 7 Forums.

If so then unplug all other HD's and run Startup Repair a few times to see if you can revive it.

    Hello there,

Were you using a program like Boot Camp to enable installing MAC OS with Windows 7 in a Dual Boot?

Ans. Nope. I was able to boot to only Windows 7. In order to boot Mac OS X I had to use a bootable usb to boot.

You don't say if you installed Windows 7 to the same HDD?

    Ans. Yes I did install.

but if so and it's GPT format then it must have been installed in UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) - Install Windows 7 with - Windows 7 Forums

Ans. Yes, my computer has UEFI (yeah, my computer came with Windows 8 ). But was changed to BIOS mode (CSM only).Still the first installation did not notice that and went well.

Have you run Startup Repair a few times? Try deleting the other OS off the HD if it doesn't start, then try Repairs again.

If no joy you can use the Win7 disk to rescue your files with Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console.

Then I'd follow the same steps here to get a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7,
making sure during the booted install to delete all partitions at Steps 7 and 8 of Clean Install Windows 7

    Hello gregrocker,

Have you run Startup Repair a few times?

Ans. Yes. But still did not do anything good.Same old error again

Try deleting the other OS off the HD if it doesn't start

Ans. Did not understand a bit. Did you mean deleting fedora( the only os alongside Windows) then if the Windows Repair starts up or not.

Are you using GRUB to boot Fedora? If so I would delete GRUB and again Mark Partition Active the Win7 or System Reserved partition (if you have it) to run Startup Repair - Run up to 3 Separate Times.

If you can do without Fedora you may need to try deleting it so the repairs will work. Later follow this method to Dual Boot - Windows 7 and Linux - Windows 7 Forums

Try also the manual bootrec/bootsect commands as sequenced in step 7 from Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start which lists everything that can be tried to start unbootable Win7.
