    Windows 7 64 bit

    I have a Laptop Dell Inspiron 1721.

    I am going from a Vista 32bit to Windows 7 64...

    My system is completely compatible...

The whole installation process goes through and completes...

It restarts and when the Windows 7 logo starts to do its thing it freezes, then a quick blue screen flashes...

I don't have time to read what it says...

It restarts and says Windows could not complete installation.

    Any clue whats going on?

You can't do an upgrade from a 32bit OS to a 64bit OS. You will have to do a "clean" install.

If you could tell us what you've done to prepare your computer to install the Win7 64 OS, it would surely help us to troubleshoot and provide answers.

We do need more info re system specs but just generally I would recommend checking to see if there are any bios updates available for your machine. You should make sure you are running the latest bios b/4 trying to install W7.
