    Windows Resume Loader frozen

Everytime my PC loads it gets stuck on the Windows Resume Loader page. It's gives me two options to select, "continue with system resume" or "delete restoration data and proceed to system boot menu". Problem is there is no keyboard response so I can't select either option. The keyboard is working fine as I can acess the boot menu and other options.

Has anyone had this error and worked it out?

    PS2 Keyboard Req'd

This may not be the most ideal solution, but I was having a similar problem with a frozen "Windows Resume Loader" screen. I could enter System BIOS at startup by pressing DEL, but as soon as my computer reached the resume loader screen I didn't have keyboard functionality anymore until... I plugged in a PS2 keyboard into my motherboard. To make the selection from the menu, I had to use the PS2 keyboard, but after Windows started back up I was good to go. Good luck, I hope this helps.

I have the same error, not sure how I got it think there might have been a power outage while it was asleep. But I have plugged in a PS2 keyboard - it has no response even during the BIOS startup - any suggestions please would be greatly appreciated.

Remember you can run osk.exe for on-screen keyboard, then create a shortcut to it on desktop to use your mouse.

After studying the Events Viewer for clues, I would run sfc /scannow to check integrity of system files.

If persists, I would run a Repair Install

    Gregrocker,

Ahh, I think I have a problem with that - I have no mouse or keyboard control over the computer so can not run / select anything. How do I run the on screen keyboard?

I am not really an IT technician and can not get any help being the weekend here.

    Cheers

Can you boot the Windows 7 DVD into Repair My Computer on second screen?

See if it finds anything to repair. If not, select from the Recovery Tools list Startup Repair which will run a series of tests.

If this doesn't find something to fix, then select System Restore from the Recovery Tools list and find a restore point before the problem started to restore the system to.

    Greg,

I was finally able to access the bios and found that the USB support for the Keyboard was disabled (took a lot of key pressing and patience) with the USB keyboard now active I was able to select to continue on the Resume Loader screen and get back into windows - I am trying a system restore on an earlier point and see if that fixes the problem.

Many thanks for your help at the moment and hope I don't need it again.

I have the same problem with the windows 7 64bit freezing on the windows resume loader. running usb keyboard and was working fine but now infinitely locked into windows resume. keyboard won't select anything as ctrl-alt-delete, enter, tab, del on start-up won't access the system. microsoft 5000 keyboard-usb. I can turn the computer off and back on and it goes straight back to windows resume with the keyboard not responding.

I can't remember which person advice I took but it goes a little something like this. Hopefully your computer gives you the opportunity to visit you bios settings/ peripherals. You can usually access this at the very beginning of startup by following the prompts such as "F1, F9, DEL, TAB, "....etc. I am pretty sure that each Motherboard has a different setup. Once I found My way to the peripherals I was able to scroll down to "USB keyboard" and saw that it was disabled. I enabled it, saved those settings and continued on to the "RESUME LOADER" page that had not been responsive before and Ta-Da!!!! it worked. I can't take credit for solving the issue, but I can testify on that persons behalf the it worked. Well at least for my configuration/Gigabyte motherboard. As for windows 7, well Ima gonna give it a spankin for being bad. Definetly going to disable the sleep/ hybernate ability seeing as I will not use my computer to stop impending nuclear attacks and so on, I doubt the few extra seconds of startup will effect me. Better safe than sorry.
