Fresh Install of Windows 7 64 bit taking over 24 hours so far

    Did the hard drive show up after you chose custom install ?

    Like in Step 7 of the the Tutorial I just gave you ? You should have deleted disk 0 down to unallocated space like in this picture.

    Ok it cancelled and I got error code 0x80070057 windows could not format a partition on disk 0. Te error occurred while preparing the partition selected for installation.

    Last time I chose custom install, I had disk 0 partition 1 system reserved and disc 0 partition 2 unallocated or something

    Try again and make sure disk 0 looks like the picture before you click next. Click on drive options to do it.

    Do you have any data on any other partitions on this hard drive ?

    If you don`t, delete all the partitions so disk 0 looks just like the picture, then click next and the install will start.

    No data on te hard drive I don't think...man this is some super frustrating stuff.

    Your best bet is to first define a primary, active partition on that disk and then install into that partition. That has always worked.
