SSD goes from disk 0 to disk 4

Just did an install on the new Intel ssd, the Intel goes from disk 0 to disk 4 when I plug my 4 hard drives in.

The Intel is plugged into Sata port 1 on the Asus board.

Disk Management is perfect on my Ultimate install on the OCZ ssd, so I`m wondering why this one won`t cooperate, any input would be appreciated.

    Thanks, Brian

As I said, check the port the SSD is attached to.

    Asus Sabertooth Z77
    Motherboards - SABERTOOTH Z77
    2 x SATA 6Gb/s port(s), brown
    4 x SATA 3Gb/s port(s), black

DM will show drive postsin this order
    1) IDE
    2) SATA1
    3) SATA2 (your 4 x SATA 3Gb/s port(s), black) Disk0 to Disk3
    4) SATA3 (your 2 x SATA 6Gb/s port(s), brown) Disk4 to Disk5.

So you are on the first Sata3 port which is port #4. You are on the right port with the SSD, so there is nothing to worry about.

I guess when no other disk is attached it shows it as port0 - which is a bit strange though.

Everything is hooked up properly, the Intel ssd is on port 1 brown 6Gbs, I could understand if the IDE drives were always listed 1st, of course that would make sense, but like I said, on my W7 Ultimate install on the OCZ ssd it`s listed as disk 0 in Disk Management and the IDE drives are listed 1,2,3,4 perfectly. So I have no clue

And in the bios the layout is:

    Port 1) Intel SSD
    Port 2) DVD drive
    Port 3) Hard Drive
    Port 4) Hard Drive
    Port 5) Hard Drive
    Port 6) Hard Drive

    Nothing hooked up to 7 & 8

No, ports 3,4,5,6 (black) are Sata 2 3Gbs, Sata ports 1 and 2 (brown) are Sata 3 as well as 7 and 8 (white) according to the manual. But anyway, here is a shot of the OCZ ssd with Ultimate showing Disk Management. And it`s perfect. But I think I know what`s causing it. I have not installed any Intel Sata controller drivers on the W7 Pro install yet, and they are installed on the OCZ drive, hopefully that`s the cause.
