How to delete XP partition from Windows 7/XP dual boot?

I have XP and Windows 7 64 bit both installed on my computer and want to delete the xp partition that I no longer use. The problem is that my XP partition is the primary, active and system partition! I really made a mess for myself when I partitioned my computer. Below is an image of disk management. XP is on D, 7 is on C. Thanks in advance!

How do I turn C into the primary, active, and system partition and D into the logical partition?

The best way to do this which handles everything correctly is to Mark C Partition Active

then from Win7 disk or System Repair Disk run Startup Repair - Run up to 3 Separate Times until Win7 starts.

After Win7 starts and is marked System Active, you can delete XP and recover its prime disk space to benefit Win7 by using Partition Wizard CD to Resize Partition - Video Help.

Whenever resizing on the boot sector, always have your Win7 disk standing by as it may require another repair.

Rather than jumping thru a lot of hoops, just copy the bootmgr from the XP partition to C. Then follow the tutorial that Golden posted.

I managed to use a combination of partition assistant, disk manager, easybcd, and the repair disk to change C to primary, then active, and then system. Thanks everyone!

Please reboot your PC and tap F8. Is Repair My Computer on the top of the Advanced Boot Options? If not it is because EasyBCD still does not do that, and until it does cannot be considered a Best Practice or even a good one if it leaves a User without the onboard Repair console.

During Win7 beta these forums developed the Best Practice to Mark Partition Active then run Startup Repair - Run up to 3 Separate Times to move the System boot files, which has worked for tens of thousands of users successfully ever since.
