Switching windows installation between internal hard drives?

    Hi

I had some issues with the original hard drive in my pc, so I have installed a new larger internal hard drive alongside it (so now have 2 internal hd).

Due to these issues I would like to switch the installation of windows from the old to the new h/d, but keep the old one in place as extra storage in case I should need it.

Is there an easy way to do this, or what is the best way to ensure I keep all my data etc and can still use both drives?

    I have windows 7.

    thanks

If these are WD or Seagate HD's then use their premium Acronis cloning/imaging app which is included. The Manual is on the Downloads page and easy to understand.

Be sure to include Track 0 and mark the Win7 or System Resserved partition Active when requested.

After transfer, unplug the old HDD, if WIn7 doesn't boot confirm the Partition Marked Active
then run Startup Repair - Run up to 3 Separate Times until Win7 starts.

Afterwards pug in the old HDD to transfer over files. After you're sure you have everything I'd wipe it with Diskpart Clean Command to get it cleanest and then repartition in Disk Mgmt.
