    setup etl issue

So I have been having some entries in the logs (Event ID 2) Circular Kernel Context Logger errors. So went looking around and found that renaming the etl file to setup.old fixes the issue. I did and then rebooted and all was fine for while now. But I a new issue which I have fixed and so I went poking around in the panther folder and noticed that my setup.old file is still there, but not a new setup.etl file.

So I went to the control panel and drilled down to the event trace sessions and the Circular Kernet Context Logger says it is running.

Do I need to stop it and then start it again in order for the setup.etl file to appear again? Or how should I fix what I did, rename the .old back to .etl?

I stopped and then restarted the service and it did not create a new file.

I had this problem which this answer was posted

    Event Viewer errors

Doing this fixed the errors as I did not have any for months. But now I just saw it and then noticed that the etl file is now missing. My error reads

Session "Circular Kernel Context Logger" failed to start with the following error: 0xC0000035
    Event ID - 2
