It appears I still have a signal. Let me restart to see if I maintain a connection. . .

Good idea, I was going to suggest.

It seems that was when you lost connectivity before - after restarting.

I'm fairly confident you wil not have that problem now..... but let's see

Yes, I was able to maintain a connection that time. It seems to be back in working order, but I would still like to look over the tutorial you all have referenced. I suppose I should also delete the folder I have with the other wireless drivers just incase.

I'm gonna start the rest of my updates now (save for bing). . .

I'm trying to think what I could have done differently to save you all the time you contributed to this thread and the only thing I can think of besides hanging on to my clean install disc (for next time) is that perhaps I shouldn't attempt it without directly plugging in with an ethernet cable.

So thanks a lot, everyone! I know a couple of us bumped heads in the beginning, but you all were quite persistent and attentive and I am impressed with what a good job you all have done.

I may have a few more questions regarding this tutorial. I hope that will be okay. lol

It might not connect automatically - you might have to clcik on the system tray netwrok icon and select Emerald5
    then enter your password

Appearantly it did conect automatically I was just impatient

    Can you do me favor?

    Mark this thread as solved.

And the other network thread as solved?

    I appreciate it.

You deserve a lot of credit for hanging in there, so I award you a certificate of accomplishment

If you have other issues, open a new thread, don't recycle this one

The Reformat gone bad and network issues are resolved, don't you think?

    Good work Adam

Don't sweat bumping heads... it happens. You are welcome to ask questions any time - it might take some time to figure out WHERE to ask them, but you'll get it.

Please don't tell your Step Dad that a Yankee told you to use the Ethernet cable
