Well, Greg, you were right! I changed the security type from WPA2-Personal to WPA-Personal and reentered the pass key and voila! I have internet again! So thank you!!

Now let's see if I can get all my updates without having any problems. :)

My only aversion to the clean install of Windows 7 tutorial you all keep referencing is that there didn't appear to be a single download available for Acer computers.

You can order the Microsoft official ACER OEM Recovery disks from the OEM manufacturer's website.
    https://secure.tx.acer.com/RCDB/Main.aspx?brand=acer
    or
    Acer | Recovery Media
    Check in Accessories
or check the main web site.
Acer Worldwide - Select your local country or region

Or could have made one yourself.

    You are correct.

Windows is not an Acer product. You have to install Windows first, then worry about any Acer specific drivers. Even that doesn't mean much since Acer uses other manufacturers hadware (Intel, Realtek, AMD, Broadcom, etc)

I answered your inquiry regarding where to get Acer drivers here: Need help locating Acer Drivers. This is my last time trying to get it across to you.

Install Windows, install network driver, let Windows install other drivers, find devices in Device Manager, find drivers on Acer (or OEM site)

What do you expect. There are about 20 major PC manufacturers. Do you expect Greg to link the download sites for all of them - and maybe even foe each of the gesillion models they produce. Then also maintain the links because they may change and new models come out every day.

We really like to help but this is not a kindergarden where you are led by the hand for every step of the way. A minimal personal imitiative is assumed. Else you can go to the Acer support and pay them $99 per call. Maybe they make you feel more comfortable.

I think you're missing an important step. Which might be why you're having difficulty

Step 7 of the OEM reinstall
    7. Gather your program installers. For those lacking disks, you may find them on the program's Support Downloads webpage. Favorite pre-installed apps may be found on the Downloads webpage for your model computer or manufacturer-provided Apps Disk. Others may be found by googling. Some pre-installed apps may not be available for clean reinstall - HP owners see additional note at bottom.
    ● Many of the favorite apps needed and desired for reinstall are available in the terrific app Ninite - Install or Update Multiple Apps at Once.

Just in case, save in advance your Wireless or Ethernet LAN (wired) driver on flash stick, CD or in your backup so you can install it to get online quickly - these can be found on the Support Downloads webpage for your model PC.
Which is why you keep focusing on Acer and which is why you don't have internet.

How to get you up and running again?
    1. You'll need another computer to download your Wireless NIC driver.

There are two available drivers listed for the Acer Aspire m3202 desktop
I don't know which device is in your machine, though

If you know what wireless device is in the box, then download that one

Not sure, try one, then the other.

Download, install, reboot - it's hardware.

    Wireless LAN Driver

Edit: Just in case I missed an important piece of information and you connect to the internet wired, here's the LAN driver (there's only one listed)

Computiac, I tried shutting everything down again and but unfortunately that didn't help.

Slartybart, what is meant by "program installers" ??? Is that another term used for drivers? I will try google.

I don't mean to get on anyone's bad side here. All I can tell you is it takes time to take initiative when you don't know what you're doing. I've been working on this pc for three days straight now. I have just never attempted any of this up till now. Up till now the only experience I have had with Windows software is inserting a Windows 7 upgrade disc and following the prompts. As I said, I am a noob. I was ready to start over and try the tutorial step by step like you all are suggesting but then a friend told me I may be jumping the gun in starting over so I just want to be sure before I go through all of that again.

I am trying the two nic drivers now. I'll report back when I'm done.
