Boot Failure - Press any key to continue

I am trying to install 64 bit Windows 7 OS

I have a Windows 7 32 bit system and i have an installation disk of windows 7 64 bit.
When i try to boot the 64 bit DVD after changing the boot order my screen displays :

    Boot Failure
    Press any key to continue

    It repeats ....
    Any help ... ?

Perhaps its a bad installation media. Try create an alternative with a 4GB USB thumb-drive instead:

    1. Download the appropriate ISO here
    2. Write it to the USB thumb drive using this
    3. Boot from USB thumb drive and install

Your specs say, 2gb of RAM Memory, I would stay with x32.

You meet the system requirements for Windows 7 x64, 2GB RAM is the minimum. It would be advisable to upgrade your memory in the future but for now this shouldn't stop you from installing a x64 version.

Check the boot order in your BIOS and make sure your system can detect the DVD drive. It may be turned off or configured under the wrong setting (it should be UEFI as default). Move the CD/DVD boot option to the top of the list.

If this still doesn't work you can try to boot from a USB. The guide below will show you how to configure a bootable USB:

I don't think i can use my USB. So is there any way to boot from a DVD ? I have changed my boot order setting my DVD ROM to the first. Still it does not work.

As Golden suggested it could be a bad media or possibly the DVD drive is faulty. I would try to install using a USB first then troubleshoot the issue once you can boot to the desktop. Use the DiskPart option from the link I sent you and copy the installation files from the DVD to the USB.

If you're only changing to 64 bit out of the mistaken belief it will use more RAM with 4gb, be aware that with hardware apportionment you'll not use any more RAM. For this reason I stick with 32 bit on 4gb or less for better performance.

If you are getting BootMgr is Missing then it is ignoring the bootable media if you are not getting prompted to Press Any Key to Boot Disk. Try triggering disk using the one-time BIOS BOot Menu key then see if you get prompt.

Well thanks everyone. I think it is a bad media, the same problem occurred to my friends computer also. Skyliinez , it seems that i can only install a 32 bit OS in a 32 bit system using USB. Therefore i cannot use my USB. As i told you earlier i will add another 2gb ram very sooner.
