    External HDD Windows XP Install?

I have a HPE-541F. Here are the specs: HP Support document - HP Support Center
I was wondering is it possible to buy a External HDD for example: Toshiba Canvio Basics 3.0 2TB Portable Hard Drive : Portable External Hard Drives - Best Buy Canada and install windows xp?
Will windows xp run on it or do i need another internal hard drive because I don't want to use my other hard drive.

Or would it be more convenient to buy a external hard drive and partition my current hard drive and move my large files to the external hard drive so I can install windows xp?

    Yes, you can.

Dual Boot Installation with Windows 7 and XP

It`s best to install XP and Windows 7 on separate hard drives and control the boot through the bios, but how you want to do it is fine too.

Please be aware, if you install XP second, you will no longer be able to boot into Windows 7.

The tutorial will explain how to fix it, please read it before you proceed.
