Please add that to your system specs in your profile. Thanks.

Did you visit the HP site and read the alert on upgrading to Windows 7?

    Black Screen, mouse cursor...

    Hi there,
I just wanted to let anyone know who may be having this similar issue that i have resolved it for myself and hopefully it might help you.

After many hours trying to figure my father-in-laws Windows 7 installation i have found the black screen showing only the cursor to be related to the video card he has installed.

In a last attempt before calling M$ i decided to re-enable his integrated video and load up windows that way, soon as i rebooted after the bios change viola Windows 7 installation resumed and after a very short time i had a completed installation!

If you have Windows XP a clean installation is required, it gives the option to load drivers, i highly recommend trying this as i wish i did sooner. Now that i have loaded the drivers for his card i have disabled the integrated video and everything is working fine. Even if it is an upgrade from Vista i would recommend getting the proper drivers for Windows 7 and see how that goes.

    Good luck!

See a list of your installed drivers at start/run and enter msinfo32 and click ok. Examine the drivers and their location under "Software Environment".
