    Startup recovery stuck on attempting repairs


    My laptop crashed and re-booted, on start up it went into startup recovery, But has been attepting rapairs for over 10 hours.

    I have tried to get to system restore using win 7 disc but it just goes back to startup repair and sticks. so I never get to advanced options.

    Anyone any ideas other that clean install?

    Check the hard drive with the manufacturer's diagnostic tools.

    Check that the HD is detected in BIOS and then check its condition as given above.

    If both these steps check out then work through the steps for Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start
