Seagate Seatools is easy to use and very good. Back up files first, Download ISO and burn to CD using Windows Image Burner, boot CD to do the Extended test. This will tell you the HD condition so you know for sure.

Unfortunately the error normally requires the boot sector and partition table to be cleaned so you'll need to have your files backed up, then if Seatools passes the HD, use its Quick Wipe function which may be enough to complete install. If not start at the top of the steps I gave you earlier.
