    Are you talking about dual-booting?

My suggestion is to install Windows 7 first as normal. Then install Windows 8 using this tutorial:
Dual Boot Installation - Windows 8 and Windows 7 or Vista

Then use this tutorial to add the Linux distro:
Dual Boot - Windows 7 and Linux

It would be safer to install Linux to a separate HDD, or via virtual machine if possible.

You will need to use BIOS, and not UEFI for this setup.

can i just run it install to G?
Not unless you intend to install using WUBI -- and that has been discontinued.

Linux needs to be installed to a Linux filesystem, not to an NTFS partition.

To prevent accidental overwrites, I would recommend you do the following:
    1) Remove the partition from "G"
    2) Disconnect all the drives except the one previously containing "G"
    3) Boot from your Mint 16 media and install to the drive
    4) Reconnect the other drives -- but CONTINUE to boot from your Mint drive
    5) Boot into Mint, open a terminal and enter "sudo update-grub". This will regenerate the GRUB config file and add entries for the other OSs.

When you then reboot, you should be presented with a GRUB menu.

Dual boot windows 7 and 8.1

Run Linux off a flash drive or cd, no need to install it. :)

I used WUBI to install Ubutu 12.04 directly to Windows 8 -- but I am using BIOS, not UEFI -- and it works well. I would agree that for most people, booting from a Live Linux distro is the simplest method.

If you upgraded to Windows 8 and are using BIOS firmware, Wubi does work, but do not enable hybrid-sleep on Windows 8.
