W7 HP 32Bit install help

I'm having a ton of trouble installing either vista home or W7. I have a dell studio xps 1640. I have vista basic on a cd and W7 on a bootable USB. When starting vista install it stops right before completing saying can't update registry data then quits. W7 Install starts and stops at installing updates


I originally when started got basic to install work then tried to get w7 installed got all the way to the w7 blue please wait screen and it just stayed stuck there. I searched for all kinds of things tried stuff and now ended up worse off

Check the hard drive with the manufacturer's diagnostic tools.

How I can't boot into windows at all i get boot mgr missing if I boot the vista cd it's stops installing at the update part , the windows 7 usb install stops at the update part as we'll

Boot the hard drive manufacturer's diagnostic tools from CD or USB drive.

From what cd ? The vista gives me the system repair but then says can't automatically fix this computer

Can I remove the hard drivers use my other computer to fix error?

This is what I'm getting right now trying to install W7 via usb
