    new hard drive


    I have a Toshiba laptop with windows 7, the hard drive chucked a wobbly and doesn't work anymore, I have the original windows disc and was wondering if I got a new hard drive would I still be able to use this disc. Is windows registered to the hard drive or the laptop

    Neither, it is registered to the motherboard. If you have the original installation disc, there should be no problem. If you get a new disk, try a SSD. You will be amazed how much faster your laptop will be. Here is a good deal:

    Everything is here to do a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 - Windows 7 Help Forums.

    If the disk you have doesn't have SP1 then be sure to use the latest official installer ISO burned to flash stick or DVD with tool also provided.

    Yep, that`s a great price on that PNY ssd that WHS linked that I linked earlier in another thread LOL

    Just use your disc to install windows and use the COA with your key to activate windows.
