Upgrading from Home Premium to Ultime without having to do clean insta

I am going to be starting college in August and when I start I believe that I will be able to get Windows 7 Ultimate for free and they are suppose to give me a product key to do it and I know Windows Anytime Upgrade doesn't work anymore how will I be able upgrade without having to do a clean install because after a clean install I know that I will have to go to the computer manufactures website to get all my drivers and I will say on another note I do have recovery disks from Lenovo, one is to start the recovery process, another is for the drivers and software and another one is for Home Premium any help is appreciated thank you in advance

It doesn't? Could you show me where you read that? Upgrade to another edition of Windows 7 by using Windows Anytime Upgrade

    No install files needed.
Only the Upgrade/Full key is need.
Anytime upgrade only adds-on the Programs & Features from version to version.
Windows Anytime Upgrade - How to

You will have a hard time finding a Anytime Upgrade to buy, as Windows 8/8.1 is out.

Are you positive it`s an Anytime Upgrade key ?

Yes, Windows Anytime Upgarde is most likely done.

Are you having problem with the pc ?

Why do you need Ultimate ?

It may not really benefit college users so you should save it for later use. But if you want to do it anyway, try the other guys suggestions.

I think its just suppose to be an upgrade key and after looking at windows anytime upgrade again there is still a place to where I can just enter my upgrade key and you guys are suggesting sticking with Home Premium as I have for 4 years of using Windows 7 and maybe I could just upgrade to Professional instead considering this is college I am talking about

I'm not sure about your college but the one I was going to for a few years up until last year had an MSDNAA account for all students in computer and electronics classes.

I got all kinds of free OS's and other software, they had Win 7 Pro, Vista, XP, Servers, some Office programs but no full office suites.

Just do a search for the college your going to with the words Dreamspark in it, you might find a bunch of stuff out.
