Upgrade windows 7 32 bit to 64bit without format?

    I'm in a similar situation. I've been running my laptop with Win7 32bit for a few years but now Adobe has dropped the 32bit version of Lightroom and the upgrade will only install on a 64bit OS, which is no problem for my main desktop system. As it happens I have got a second HDD in my laptop (in the DVD slot) and could perhaps follow BlackOwl's suggestion, but actually I think I'm blocked by the video adapter in my Lenovo T60p which I'm told only operates on a 32bit system. Any comments please? OK, maybe it means I have to buy a new laptop :-(

    Double check on the video drivers at Lenovo.

    Yes AddRAM I'm a D S 'cos I have been limping along with an ancient video driver, probably for years.
    Now I have updated it I can even watch moovies without them being jerky.
    I set up my alternative HD and installed Win7-64 on it, then the latest driver (actually a few years old), and wondrously it all seemed to work - at least as far as the display is concerned; I will return to normal working while I plan the upgrade properly. I still need to try out Sygnus21's method for getting my revered Nikon film scanner to play ball on 64bit.
