Unable to create a new system partition

Hi,
I have just built myself a new PC (ASRock B85M ITX, i5 4570,Kingston HyperX 120gb SSD, 2x 1tb HDD, 8gb ram, MSI R9 270X) and am trying to install Windows 7 Home Premium x64 to my SSD.
I burnt an .iso to DVD, but it wouldn't boot, (Thinking either mobo or DVD drive issue), so I created a bootable USB to install Windows.
When choosing my SSD, I get the error "Unable to create a new system partition". After a bit of 'Google-Fu' I found some others with the same problem, and I followed the instructions given everywhere: CMD prompts to clean, format, align... etc etc, as well as have only the SSD connected, I've tried it in every SATA port, I've tried different SATA cables, I've tried re-doing the bootable USB. Everything I have tried has been to no avail.
With the suggestion of having only the SSD connected, I disconnected the two HDD's, but had to leave the bootable USB in due to my motherboard/DVD drive not booting DVD's, even an official windows disc wouldn't boot, so a DVD boot is currently out of the equation.
What else can be done to fix this error? I've been pulling my hair out over the last couple of days.

You are unable to create a system partition on an SSD.

Are you also unable to create a system partition on any random HDD?

which requires special formatting using Option One for UEFI Bootable USB Flash Drive - Create in Windows

If problems persist even after trying all Legacy and CSM settings in BIOS, and making sure to boot as UEFI device, then you can choose to Bypass UEFI to Install WIn7.

issue on my new Asrock motherboard, I tried everything. Finally I dug up an old USB 2.0 flash drive and perfomed the same produced that had been failing with the USB 3.0 keys. Only with the 2.0 key, I was able to install on my new motherboard.

It isn't a bug - Win7 installation media simply doesn't have USB3 drivers, so you need to disable USB3 support or enable Legacy USB in BIOS setup.

In addition the flash stick needs to be compiled using Option One of UEFI Bootable USB Flash Drive - Create in Windows
and then booted as a UEFI device, deleting all partitions during install.

Hi chaps... did anyone resolve this? I also have the B85M-itx board and i'm about to smash the crap out of it cause i can't get anywhere with this...

i boot from a usb dvd drive which requires no drivers or a usb stick and it asks for the drivers to be installed... i've put the drivers on the boot stick but it refuses to acknowledge that they are correct...

if i could at least get it to install the usb drivers i might be able to g et somewhere..

forgot to add.. used rufus for the usb stick... tried 2 different sticks... currently have 3 keyboards.. 2 usb and on p/s2.. mouse refuses to work under any circumstances...

Oooo.... will have a go at installing it using another pc... I've an older one I use for a gaming rig so it shouldn't have any issues.... may look into the bios thing first tho... I assumed that cause it came up when pressing f11 it would work... I've even destroyed the Linux installation I was running some how as it now tells me that the version of windows I have is wrong... dafuq???

Turned off the USB 3 which I noticed further back and it's installing now... and to think I used to do tech support!!! And was suprisingly good at it too!! Xp tho so was a while back.. either way I'm off to somehow kick myself in the nuts for being stupid.... later taters!!
