"A Required CD/DVD device driver is missing...."
Normally this means you need to start the disk from boot to overcome the error.

Since you can use Upgrade media to clean install, and boot is the cleanest possible install, consider backing up your files and doing a format install following this tutorial: Clean Install Windows 7

Whoever provided the disk or download also owes you tech support.

MS has excellent tech support.

Digital ****creek is probably bought out by MS by now and had a hundred million thrown into their tech support.

Try it! It's free and you paid for it. Tech support can actually be worth more than the price of the OS in the education you get - it's how I got mine.
So 1st, I called Microsoft technical support and they said I had to call my system PC manufacture Alienware. Alienware in Australia do not support Windows 7 on their older PCs even though all the components are approved.

2nd, I cannot do a "Clean Install Windows 7" as setup does not allow me progress to selecting a customised setup. This error message appears straight after selecting the language settings.

The fixes in this link are worth trying:

--if you burned the disk yourself, download ImgBurn and reburn it slower at 4x

--load the files on the disk into the root of a Primary formatted USB stick which you set to boot in BIOS. It wiill be listed as a HDD.

--I would even first check the hash on any ISO I downloaded against the official hash so you know the .ISO file is sound.

Try going into Bios and set the disk controller to ATA or IDE - avoid anything that says ahci.

congrats gladiator. USB keys are easy to boot if you format primary and load the install files into root, then boot into it under HDD's listed

Transferring my Windows 7 64bit DVD to a 4GB bottlable USB has solved that problem!

UNFORTUANTELY, I now have another related issue where I cannot see the hard disks.

The problems seems to be around the use of the Silicon RAID chipset on the A8N-SLI Deluxe motherboard vs. the Nforce RAID chipset. I am going to move the 2 hard drives to the nForce chipset and reconstruct the RAID 0 partition.
Will let you know if it works or not.
