What appears on the Disk Mgmt Boot tab? This is where to start to remove the stray listing.
    Which is the boot tab?

Type msconfig in start search box. Under msconfig Boot tab, delete the errant entry.
Resolving issues like this requires being thorough, missing nothing, not moving on until you ask back any questions to complete every single step.

Again, Type msconfig in your search box and it will bring this up, then click the boot tab at the top.

Did you set the timer to 0 in msconfig ?

You can install EasyBCD, if it shows up there, you can delete the old OS.
