    Download and install CDBurnerXP.

    During installation, dont accept Mobogenie.

    After installation, run the program.

Place a blank disc in the Optical Disc Drive.

Click on "Burn ISO Image" > OK.

In the resulting page, set your Optical Disc path. Browse to the downloaded ISO file's location, set the speed and click on "Burn Disc".

Does it write the image to the disc?

    Extremely strange.

Take Greg's suggestion. Does it fail too?
If so, Try using WinToFlash. Does it fail too?
If so, get one other blank disc, not a discount one .... try CDBurnerXP again.

If all fail, then ...... better you get the work done rather doing it yourself.

If I may a little question.
Are DVD'S or CD's being used?
Is a DVD burner or CD burner being used?

I will go away and not be a bother.
