come on mate ,,, i,m not a woman... multi tasking is alien to me... one step at a time ;.~D
Multi-tasking has nothing to do with sex, only competence and thoroughness. To successfully troubleshoot requires utmost thoroughness if not keen competence.
ok , downloaded the chipset, restarted. it got stuck on the shutting down bit again , so i pressed the on/off again to shutdown.
i got the ' this computer is not supported' notice after clicking on the bios update link on the toshiba site, and then on extraction it popped up,
ok ... this is just a stab in the dark BUT the retail windows 7 ultimate box that i bought is for upgraders from vista to windows 7..... it has upgrade on the box. its not the full version ... would this make any difference to the problems that i,m experiencing ???
Yes, if you try to install Upgrade version to a wiped or new hard drive, it will not see an underlying OS when it is booted for install. Instead after install you must do the quick registry workaround in Option Three of Clean Install with a Upgrade Windows 7 Version provided to activate Upgrade version on a new or wiped hard drive.
so , is it ok for me to try option 3 now then ?
