Win7 x64bit - Required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. UGH!!
Hey Everyone,
I have tried everything suggested. I starting to wonder if it's just not meant to be. Let me first start out with my specs.
Motherboard:
GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-USB3
Processor:
AMD FX-4100
Memory:
8GB DDR3
A couple of day's ago I bought an ISO from:
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium DOWNLOAD ONLY | Discount Mountain Software
They sent me a download link and the Product Key via email. I downloaded the CD used Microsoft's DVD/USB tool. Went to install. It loads the files then shortly after I click Language and Install it tell's me "Required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing".
So I google it. First thing I try is Microsoft's fix. located here: "A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing" or "A media driver your computer needs is missing" error message when you install Windows
Now, I'm using DvD -R could this be the issue? After burning 3 the first one burned at two high of a Speed I'm guessing the second time I burned at like 4x using PowerISO. None of them have worked. I also used Microsofts burning tool.
I have a 1TB HDD I have it partitioned 1 partition is for Windows the other is for all my personal files games etc etc. Im currently running windows vista home premium 32bit.
Now after the above DvD burns failed. I tried the USB route again using Microsoft's tool. Created a bootable USB drive. I got the same error. At this point I'm getting pretty frustrated. So I format the USB drive again and load the SATA AHCI drivers located here for windows 7 64bit: GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket AM3+ - GA-78LMT-USB3 (rev. 4.1)
I then used the CD to install, the error came up, and I browsed to the folder where I extracted the files updated SATA AHCI files. 4 files were extracted, I pointed at each of them and it popped up "no drivers found". At this point I'm ready to throw my computer out the window.
So here I sit. This whole process took me 7 hours. Now when I went and looked at the motherboard Drivers for win Vista 32bit I see there is an updated Chipset Driver with SATA AHCI update so I'm wondering if that could be the problem. Im so confused.
BTW I also tried switching the USB to a USB2.0 Slot as well. That did not work like it has for so many. Is there anything else I can do. Id really love to get this working so I can take advantage of my 8gb of ram vs 4. Really bummed lol. Any help would be appreciated.
