    This worked for me

Hit shift-F10 to get to command prompt from install screen.

    Run the following commands

    bootrec /fixmbr

    bootrec /fixboot

    exit and continue with install.

I have the same exact issue. Would the model of computer have anything to do with it? I have an old Dell that came with XP pro. I have an internal WD HDD that I ran Kill Disk on. I am installing Windows 7 pro from an official ISO from MS. I have ran the long list of commands on page one and did the ntfs thing that took forever, but still get the same exact cannot crate partition. I do not see any option in this bios version for UFEI or whatever. What needs to be done here? Why is it so difficult to install an OS On a bare metal HDD?

I would guess the disk is set to IDE seeing it had x-p on it
