Repairing or recovery of Win 7

I am having Win 7 problem on my Acer net book. I had hoped to do a repair which I have a disc, but for some reason it just stays in the cd drive. It has boot folder ..Don't know how to use it. I also have Acer's recovery disc ( 2 ). haven't tried that yet. Just wondering of the 2 which is the better to see if it would correct a nagging problem I have which will not go away. So i got fed up and thought maybe just do a repair may fix it. I wrote about that problem in general discussions "Bad Image is worse than the blue Screen.' I went to the MS site and checked all their Faq's and not one of them mention anything about repair or recovery, just full installation, which I hope to avoid, or updated versions. Does anyone know how i can get that repair disc do its thing?

Thanks..but I am hesitant in using it now...upon reading what the disc is only good for. Its mostly for those of us who can't boot into windows. I do not have that problem. I can ..the only thing that seems to hamper my surfing, is the constant messages that I explain thoroughly in my link I show in my first post. Those messages keep me from doing a system restore or even use Malware.
