Fresh Install of Win Pro 64 Missing part of HD

Great install! Clean and fast. However I am puzzled to see that part of my 320 gb 7200 drive is not recognized. A right click on C drive states that I have 282 GB left out of 297GB. I do not want to move forward with my install before accounting for this space. So...anyone have any advice?

Also , as I have a Dell Studio XPS 1640 it has a a few of Dell specific driver I must install or I wil not have certain features. I am not thinking dock here. Bios ,chipset, IDT Sc. Windows grabbed the latest driver for the Radeon 3670 but not the Catalyst SW. Nor would I want it to. Has anyone dl'd the latest Catalyst suite? Any fellow xps owners out there test driven Dell's drivers on Win 7 pro yet?
I did post this a few times (minus ther missing drive space) here but to to effect. I am hoping that enough people have had their hands on Windows 7 now to offer some advice.
    Thanks,
    J

If you're wondering why your 320GB drive only shows 297-8GB, then that's normal. See this thread for an explanation why.

HDD's - the Advertized size vs the Actual size.

On top of that, system restore points and shadow copies can take a lot of space up from all the points made over time. You can delete all points except the last one from time to time, if you were so inclined to. But remember, if you delete them, you won't have them later on to fall back on.

About your ati drivers, I don't ever install my graphic card drivers from WU, from past screw ups with them, I always get the CCC, or just the drivers from the official site, AMD, and just hide the graphic card updates from WU.

Upon further reflection, a nights sleep and reading your post <g> it is all clear as day now. Consider yourself repped.
As far as the system restore points I tend to keep a few but no more.
Re the ATI Radeon suite I've been using the 9.4 ver since the RC dropped. I most certainly will grab the new one. Hopefully 10 (last I checked it was 9.9...of course that might mean it is actually 9.75:) ) anyhow thanks again.
