He's asking if this 500GB drive thats "missing" is internal or external.
C,D = 1st HDD
E = 2nd HDD
F=DVD-ROM (??)
G = External HDD
So if the missing HDD exist it will be F and your DVD ROM will be G and External HDD H.
I feel this missing HDD somehow might have gotten dismounted or 'ejected'?
missing HDD is internal.
I disconnected HDD's reconected and restarted. Now another internal 500GB is missing!!!! Help!!!
No, sry guys. One 500GB is here. One is missing, and now only C: partition of 250GB is listed the other is not
Do I gather that we are talking about an external disk. If yes, it is most likely a driver problem. As an easy exercises, unplug and then replug the USB cable. Maybe the system finds the driver. If that does not work, go to the manufacturers website and see whether you can download and install the proper driver. During driver installation I would keep the disk unplugged.
No. its internal. When i go to cmd and do list disk it shows only one hdd 500GB, but my windows is installed on 250GB!!!???
What is your SATA setting in BIOS?
IDE, SATA, RAID or ?
Check Device Manager and see what is listed for the Storage Controller.
Right click the controller listed under 'Storage Controller', check the Driver tab get the version, then the Resources tab and see if there are any conflicts.
Let us know what you find.
I took new SATA cable and connected to my HDD whihch was not showing up and to another connection on motherboard. Now its function. Thx for help guys.
